Rice Krispy treats are one of the best desserts of all time. Recently I had the honor of making a batch for a co-worker’s birthday and they got me thinking. There’s so much more you could do with that marshmallow-y goodness.
I decided to experiment the other day as I was making Christmas treats for my neighbors.
You know I love salty and sweet, so that’s exactly what I went for.
Chex, pretzels, M&Ms and marshmallows = one fabulous salty, sweet treat.
Gooey Chocolate Pretzel Chex
Ingredients
2 cups rice Chex
2 cups corn Chex
3 cups mini pretzels
1 tbsp butter
3 cups marshmallows
1/2 cup M&Ms
In a large bowl combine chex and pretzels.
In another large bowl melt butter in microwave. Once butter is melted, stir in marshmallows. Melt marshmallow mixture in microwave for 1 minute and 30 seconds, stirring after 45 seconds.
Pour chex and pretzels into melted marshmallows, stirring until evenly coated.
Transfer chex mix to a silpat or wax paper. Sprinkle M&Ms over top and let cool. Once cooled, break into pieces and enjoy.
This stuff is seriously addicting and way too easy to make!
oooh have you ever tried to make puppy chow? It’s kind of like this, and is amazing!
oohhhh my goodness Stacy I hate you but love you for posting this awesomeness.
