Well we had hope, but the Falcons didn’t come through. It was a sad afternoon in our house. If only they’d won…
We turned things around slightly by making a big pot of my mom’s chili.
It warmed our souls. As did the wine.
Today I’ve got the day off work. Woohoo! Happy MLK and inauguration day! I woke up, ate breakfast with Chris, sent him off to work, and then went for a run.
This is my longest run in quite some time and while it wasn’t the easiest thing, it felt good to be out there.
Over the weekend I started making a list of local 5Ks and 10Ks that are coming up in the next several months, as I’m ready to get back into that old hobby of mine.
Running to run doesn’t quite make me jump out of bed on a cold, dark morning, so maybe having a lingering race on the calendar will.
I haven’t finalized a race calendar yet, but so far these sound like potential candidates:
- Run for Orphans 5k
- Charles Harris Run for Leukemia 10K
- The Intown Ten
- Silver Comet 10K
- 2013 Atlanta Women’s 5K
Do you have any races coming up?
You get today off?! Totally jealous.
That loss was sad… I hate to say it, but soooo typical for ATL sport teams.
I was sad about the Falcons too and I don’t even like football.
Yay, Silver Comet is on the list. I think I’m definitely going to sign up. I’ve done the Charles Harris one before. It starts like a mile from my house.
Check out the Shamrock and Roll. It is through the Junior League of Atlanta. They are adding more to the race this year and you can run with your dog so I am going to run it with Bailey (my weim).
Aw too fun! I’ll definitely check it out, thanks for sharing!
Hopefully we can work it out to do some of those races together!! Intown 10 was one of my favorites last year!
I’d love to run a race together! I still haven’t signed up for any yet, but would love to do one that works with your schedule.
