Tonight I got to catch up with my best friend Orian and it was fantastic.

We met at the gym, hopped on a couple of bikes next to each other, cycled and chatted away. After 45 minutes of chit chat cardio, we went out for some Mexican.

Chips, guacamole, more chit chat, tacos and football. It was so nice to catch up with her, but I do wish nights like these happened more often.

I never believed my parents or other “old” people when they’d tell me that times goes by faster the older you get. How could that be? It always seemed like Christmas took forever to get here. What felt like months of painfully slow waiting now feels like time ticking by at warp speed.

I guess I’m officially old, which is also old news. Now that time passes by so quickly and we all have such busy lives, it feels as if time spent with friends and family gets more limited.

Work gets in the way, schedules get hard to coincide, but even after more time has passed than I’d like, it’s always such a great feeling seeing a friend or family member and picking up like it was just yesterday we last hung out.

Now if only time would slow down a little.

Or does it only continue to speed up?
