After running the Marine Corps Marathon things have been a little different for me. Life hasn’t revolved around getting in all sorts of crazy mileage. Instead it’s been a lot more laid back when it comes to fitness.
Chris and I still go to the gym at least once a week and I’ve been trying to get back into running, but I haven’t been logging my workouts like I used to. During marathon training I kept up with each and every run, recording my distance, time, pace and how I felt. It was a great way to see my progress throughout the 16 weeks of training.
Dailymile was the tool I used to religiously log my workouts, but I haven’t updated it since the day before the marathon.
Starting today I’m getting back to it.
I’m also starting to log my meals via Lose It so I can try and get rid of these rude seven pounds that made their way to my love handles.
My goal with tracking workouts and meals is to improve my fitness capabilities and also lose some weight. It’s beneficial in many ways and will help with the following:
Do you use any tracking apps or tools?
I have a Daily Mile account but I am terrible at keeping it updated. Still want to do the Silver Comet 10K? I signed up.
Yes! I’ll sign up now.
I tried using Daily Mile, but it bothered me that you had to round up or down to the nearest mile. I actually track all my running in a Google spreadsheet and it’s been just fine.
Oh really? I’ve been able to put in the exact mileage. Maybe they updated it? Either way, a spreadsheet works perfectly too. Plus then it’s not out there for everyone and their mom to see.
