No weekend in our household is complete without Mexican food. To curb those cravings we tried out La Costilla Grill, a new restaurant that opened nearby. As soon as we were seated, we were greeted with this spread.
Chips, homemade salsa in a molcajate, avocado crema, pico de gallo, really spicy salsa and limes. It all had quite the kick but was also delicious.
To our surprise this restaurant wasn’t your ordinary Mexican establishment, instead it was more of a steakhouse. There wasn’t much on the menu for me but I was able to get a salad minus the meat.
I was a bit worried at first, but it turned out to be great. The perfect semi-healthy compliment to all of those chips, salsa and cheese dip. I also loaded it with plenty of guacamole that came with Chris’ ribeye – I can never get enough guac.
The rest of our weekend revolved around cleaning up our extra bedroom. We worked hard to get rid of the junk while also organizing.
We made a huge run to Goodwill, took apart an armoire (it was too big to move out of the room, so it became trash), recycled a ton and made room for what will soon become a functional guest bedroom. You can even see the top of the desk now.
Whew, it only took us two years of hoarding junk. The next step is to get a new bed. Stay tuned!
What’s your favorite dish to eat at Mexican restaurants? You can say margaritas, I won’t judge.
Yum! We love Mexican!! Unfortunately this baby won’t tolerate it and leaves me sick for days after I eat it. I do love me some guac!!
Oh an we are re-doing our third bedroom too! So fun!
Ooo fun! I wanna see pictures!
Boo! Sounds like you need to teach that baby what it’s favorite needs to be.
Salsa and guacamole are my favorites. I could make a meal just out of those.
You guessed it, margaritas are my favorite. It’s going to be hard not being able to enjoy one on a patio this spring and summer, but I suppose it’s all for a good cause.
