Oh hey there! Happy New Year! I’ve spent some time away as I got back into the swing of juggling going back to work after maternity leave, spending time with my family and working on Parallel Face and Body’s first holiday season. It’s been busy for sure, but I’m really enjoying it all so I can’t complain!
We also just had a long holiday break. And it was fantastic.
Frances is somehow already six months old (hope to have an update for you soon), Christmas has come and gone, and 2015 is here. Craziness.
I hope you all have been enjoying this holiday season! Hope you have a smooth transition back to reality too
Now for a few pictures from the holidays. All thanks to my awesome cousin/photographer Jana.
^^ this actually goes back to Thanksgiving. Frances had just woken up from a nap and then we were like, smile it’s picture time!
^^ blowing raspberries, which she thinks is hilarious
^^ in her Papa Bruce’s lap
^^ opening her big moose stuffed animal from my sister and her family. complete with a cute pink headband made by my super crafty sister
We dressed up baby girl for her first Halloween. She was all ready to greet the trick or treaters with three giant bags of candy. And then we only got on trick or treater. We just moved to this house in March and while the neighborhood definitely has a lot more kids, around us the kids are a little too young. The quieter than expected night gave us more time to take pictures of our sweet little bunny rabbit. And to eat as much candy as we wanted…
Hey y’all! How’s your first week of summer been going? Work has been pretty nuts for me, but luckily this past weekend I had a great time kicking off summer at the lake with family. And this coming weekend Chris and I are headed to the beach for our babymoon!
Our family is growing like crazy – there are three kiddos and another on the way. Summers at the lake are going to get wild soon enough!
This past weekend we celebrated my nephew’s first birthday (and he totally mastered eating chocolate cake). We also got to spend lots of time with my brother’s three month old daughter. Chris and I definitely got lots of baby practice this weekend.
My grandparents, uncles, aunt and cousin also visited, and something that’s only partially sinking in with me is – next time we see them all, we may have a little baby of our own. There’s not much longer (I’m 32 weeks)!
We had a big weekend of celebrating. Saturday was Chris’ birthday so he and I spent the day having fun around the city. We kicked the day off with a breakfast of champions at Waffle House, then we hopped on Marta (Atlanta’s railway system) and headed downtown. Our first stop was a touristy one – the new Atlanta ferris wheel, followed by a couple slices of pizza for lunch, a walk through Inman Park and Little Five Points, and a stop at Criminal Records to get both Warpaint albums on vinyl. It was a fun day playing tourist in our own city.
Sunday was spent with our moms. We had brunch with Chris’ mom at Flying Biscuit and then had dinner with my family. We even managed to grab a picture of the four generations of women. Crazy to think that pretty soon I’ll have a little girl who can join the picture.

Who’s got a hot date for Valentine’s Day? I think Chris and I are on planning on staying in, cooking pork tenderloin and watching either the series we just started, Scandal, or House of Cards since it’s being released Friday. It’s a crazy life we lead over here…but really I think I’d rather have a laid back evening since it’s bound to be packed for a Friday V-day.
