We added a couple days to our already long Labor Day weekend and went up to the lake on Thursday to enjoy some extra time in the mountains. It was our last bit of summer at the lake but we enjoyed it to the fullest. We went paddle boarding, swimming, sunning, had a beer tasting, wine tasting and of course enjoyed tons of eating. We celebrated a birthday and the little birthday cowgirl mermaid (as she liked to be referred to) memorialized the weekend by learning to jump off the diving board.
I’m really going to miss you, summer. You’ve been the absolute best.

We spent another weekend up at the lake, this time with a pig roast party. There’s only a little bit of summer lake weekends left so we soaked it all in as much as we could.
We are still soaking up the summer and enjoying as much lake time as we can get. This weekend Frances got to meet all of her cousins, her great grandma, great grandpa, uncle, aunt and great uncle. We even managed to get a photo of the whole fam damily.
And the grandparents with all of their grandbabies.
We spend a lot of summer weekends at the lake, but this one was pretty monumental. Frances got to visit for her first time and, at the age of five, Moose finally started swimming! Moose has had some anxiety with having a new baby sister around so we were very proud parents that he took the plunge given the timing. It’s funny that it’s taken him this long (he’s been going to the lake for the last four summers) because there are always other dogs around who love to play fetch in the water. In the past he participated by running around with the other dogs, but he never would get in the water. There was lots of cheering for Mr. Moose this weekend. And now he’s addicted to swimming.
Hey y’all! How’s your first week of summer been going? Work has been pretty nuts for me, but luckily this past weekend I had a great time kicking off summer at the lake with family. And this coming weekend Chris and I are headed to the beach for our babymoon!
Our family is growing like crazy – there are three kiddos and another on the way. Summers at the lake are going to get wild soon enough!
This past weekend we celebrated my nephew’s first birthday (and he totally mastered eating chocolate cake). We also got to spend lots of time with my brother’s three month old daughter. Chris and I definitely got lots of baby practice this weekend.
My grandparents, uncles, aunt and cousin also visited, and something that’s only partially sinking in with me is – next time we see them all, we may have a little baby of our own. There’s not much longer (I’m 32 weeks)!
