I’m trying to get back to blogging. It’s been a while. But my New Years resolution is not to blog more, like it has been in years past. I know my limits, especially with an already overflowing plate of responsibilities. I do love having this space to connect with people and as a creative/journalistic outlet so it’s not going anywhere.
This is the dress I wore to my baby shower and I’ve been wanting to wear it again but haven’t had a proper occasion. Then I saw how Christine styled a summer maxi dress for Fall and had to try it myself. It’s fun carrying certain favorite or lesser worn pieces into other seasons with the addition of a few layers.
My uniform. Stripes are my favorite and take up a lot of my closet. I’m sure I’ll be wearing this outfit a lot this fall, especially these boots.
Although I’m trying to minimize how often I wear boots right now because come January, I’m usually very sick of only wearing boots.
Well I was supposed to start work today but I’ve got one heck of a nasty cold that has rendered me useless for the last week of my maternity leave. It sucks to end this wonderful time feeling so terrible, but at least I’m getting an extra day at home with my girl. And no, this isn’t a hoax. I’m not that clever. Anyway here’s my planned outfit for my first day back, which I’m hoping will be tomorrow because I am more than ready to get rid of this cold and feel like my normal self again. I’m branching out with the pattern mixing and hoping this mix works.
On Saturday night my sister and I attended the Maiedae Mixer together. Everyone was encouraged to dress for the theme of the evening – You’re Golden. My sister and I cracked up when I got to her house and we realized we’d dressed the same…black maxi dresses and long gold necklaces…#parallel. And that’s exactly why we named our beauty product company Parallel Face & Body.
It was a really pretty event that allowed us to meet a lot of other great women in the blogger and Etsy worlds. Thanks to Savannah and Jenny for organizing a fun night!
