This is the dress I wore to my baby shower and I’ve been wanting to wear it again but haven’t had a proper occasion. Then I saw how Christine styled a summer maxi dress for Fall and had to try it myself. It’s fun carrying certain favorite or lesser worn pieces into other seasons with the addition of a few layers.
Have you been to True Food Kitchen? I went last weekend and it was delicious. They have a great menu with tons of healthy variety. The juice bar is a must for sure. Read my review over on Buzz in the City.
I’ve always thought I leaned more towards cool colors, but I realized recently that when it comes to our house I’m the complete opposite. In our living room you’ll find lots of warm colors – oranges, reds, yellows. These colors do exactly what they say – they warm the house. Especially in the living room, it makes for a cozy and cheerful setting that’s perfect for our family to hang out in.
Chairish reached out to me recently and asked me to create a styleboard around a chair and its color scheme. Of course my eyes were immediately drawn to the warm red of this midcentury modern chair. To complete the living room inspiration I gravitated toward lots of neutrals with just a few extra added pops of color.
Now that it’s Fall it’s time to bask in the glory of everything pumpkin and cozy. There are so many things I want to do this season, especially with our little girl (even though she’s too young to know what’s going on, it’s still fun). Hence my Fall To-Do List. I love a good list and now with my “mom brain” I need them more than ever. It’s insane how much I forget things now…
Check out my list here on Buzz in the City! What do you want to do this Fall?
Maternity leave is over and our little newborn seems like she’s grown to be a real baby. She holds her head up fairly well and she’s even started sitting up in the Bumbo. She’s “talking” up a storm and loves it when we coo back at her. Yes, we’ve turned into those people who coo back and forth with their baby. Her smiles are still melting my heart and I get even more now with loads of gums. Adorable.
Of course she didn’t smile much for these pictures (she was on the verge of needing a nap), but she did kick and punch like she loves to do. She’s also been loving to chew on her hands. She hasn’t quite found her thumb but at this rate it’s seeming like she’ll like her thumb over the pacifier.
As for daycare, we got really lucky and ended up finding the perfect solution right as I was going back to work. Seriously, the timing couldn’t have been better. There’s a lady in our neighborhood who watches a few kids in her home. Frances seems to love her fun energy already, plus she gets to be a few other kids of various ages, which I think is good for her.
